OUR RECOMMENDATIONS | Far Cry 1 | FCAV


We would like to introduce to you all the new settings with its descriptions, and we would to give some advices  about it.

First of all, we'll start with what settings we recommend to use:



As you can see, here used such settings as: Smoothing calculations, smoothing frames and 500 FPS Limit.
So, we recommend these settings for best response and performance. Why 500?
Since game yet is one threaded, FPS additional frames gives more "SAFE" time for calculations, and as result better performance.

And next part, next list of settings:

Here we using almost very high everywhere, but! Water Quality and Shadow Quality are very expensive procedurals even on modern processors, because game is still one threaded also. So we'll understate them a bit as result.
Moving next - we pay attention on Perspective of Ai/Player. What's this?
This is a slider that controls how far away you can see enemies and other characters.
Increasing the draw distance means that NPC will continue to be updated for you, which is also expensive and not free for the CPU. Therefore, we will reduce it by 20-30 percent. On weak computers, it is recommended to reduce this value even more.


Now lets describe some new settings...
  • Quality terrain - making your terrain more detailed and increase polygons on it on mid distance.
  • Interpolate camera angles - this new technology allows to smooth some high tick rates for the camera, almost useful for multiplayer. 
  • Independence frame rate of cameta - this feature allows to enable updating camera calculations on another async timer which gives additional performance, especially for mouse input.

New available advanced statistic from new version of FCAV. What means ENGINE LATENCY and TIME?
  • TIME - It's just your local time of PC.
  • ENGINE LATENCY - Displays as low your proccessor latency is. Than more value, than is worse for performance. Numbers between 1-4 usually are good. The color highlights how much load is happening. Red - means critical threshold, can cause frame breaks, performance degradation and other unpleasant sensations from gameplay. White and green are the optimal values. Orange is already an average, but still tolerable load.
