How to play FCAV(Far Cry 1) via Steam with Overlay | Far Cry Fixes
Finally it's here!
How to play with Steam current mod? Easy and Fast. Steps.
1) You needed bought game in Steam first of all for sure.
2) Next part is on screenshot:
Go to properties in your game(remind: it must be bought).
3)Select path to the game (if game is bought and FCAV already installed via Launcher, - you can choose custom Far Cry 1 folder also):
"D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FarCry\OpenFC\FarCry.exe" -MOD:FCAV %command%
As you can notice here, path is on disk D, is just EXAMPLE, your path may be different, so find where is your bought steam game is located, and select there FarCry.exe from OpenFC(this folder will appears in your game root folder ONLY when you will install the mod - via launcher or manually).
UPD: Also all screenshots etc will works for Steam Community content. It can be uploaded there.
After that your Steam Overlay will works with FCAV. Enjoy!

I can't start the modded version. I followed the steps. Non-modded version works fine.
I understand it's a Vulkan error but is there a way to fix it? Maybe the performance can be improved with Vulkan, I'm not sure what causes it.
Hi, yep, if you see 0x00000 etc it means game in very first init crashes. And 0x6.... means renderer libs. What PC specs do you have? Yes, Vulkan gives a bit more performance.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
It's fairly new so maybe Vulkan just won't work on it. I'm getting good fps without Vulkan so it's okay. I can run other Vulkan games so it may be a driver issue too. I've installed the drivers from the launcher.
Yeah. But strange, usually it's ok with Nvidia Videocards.
Works fine on RTX 3060 Ti on my other PC though.
Is it still working? Because when I tried to launch without "-MOD" it launched a default game, but with "-MOD" it can`t find a path
It is still working. Be sure you making everything as in example, with same symbols etc

Your game is bought? And be sure you chosed your correct patch. On screenshot is example. Find where your steam game is located, and be sure mod is installed there. And type in the field the path to your OpenFC folder, which must be after instilling of the mod(in the steam game).
I bought the game.
I installed the mod in game folder
I choose the opendx folder exe, as was told, but without the "-MOD" thing, it launches the vanilla game, but with "-MOD" it can't find the path

Check this carefuly. After: -MOD:FCAV you needed type also -> %command%
I typed exact such, with all quotes with same style. Everything is working.
